Being in Paradisi: presentation of the 2023 Integrated Reporting
On Friday, September 13, we held the presentation of Paradisi’s 2023 Integrated Reporting, an event that combined emotion and information about our company’s economic and financial performance as a Benefit Corporation, as well as its social, environmental, and community engagement.
In an extraordinary afternoon surrounded by stakeholders, collaborators, friends, and supporters, we experienced a unique event that took us not only through the company’s numbers and results but also on a theatrical journey inside our production facility.
A theater among machines: emotion and engagement
The event began with a narrative performance staged within the factory—a moving path through lathes, milling machines, and advanced precision machinery that transformed the space into an avant-garde theater.
Among the machinery, three talented actors, Sandro Bellagamba, Eleonora Peroni, and Emma Bellagamba, from Res Humane aps, Compagnia Teatrale Sipario, and L’Isola Aps, portrayed the past, present, and future of the company, performing texts written by employees during self-writing workshops and refined by director Mauro D’Ignazio.
One of the most poignant moments was hearing the voice of Sandro Paradisi once more, resonating through the factory amid silent machines and lemon trees, moving everyone present. This immersive experience created profound moments of sharing and remembrance.
The 2023 Integrated Report: a year of profound changes
Following the theatrical performance, the official presentation of the 2023 Integrated Report began, introduced by sociologist Massimiliano Colombi and Gaia Paradisi, the company’s leader. Our CEO discussed a year marked by deep economic and organizational transformations.
While 2023 saw a decrease in revenue, this was not a cause for alarm but rather a strategic choice in the industrial plan. In an environment of increasingly demanding orders and tighter deadlines, we responded proactively, investing in higher value-added products, research, innovation, and employee training, demonstrating resilience and adaptability to maintain client trust, support them, and explore new technological and sectoral frontiers such as fashion, hydrogen, and dental applications.
Innovation and sustainability at the core
The Integrated Report highlighted not only financial results but also the importance of “common benefit,” a philosophy extending beyond profit to focus on creating a positive impact for the community and environment. Each year, the Integrated Report is crafted to reflect two sides of the same identity: economic accountability and commitment to people and regional development.
Paradisi has continued to invest in innovation, maintaining an EBITDA of 21%, and reinforced its commitment to environmental sustainability. Ten percent of the company’s energy now comes from photovoltaic systems installed in June, and 90% of waste is recovered and reused. This demonstrates Paradisi’s pursuit of more circular and sustainable operations.
Commitment to people: inclusive Governance
A significant part of the report presentation focused on governance, which Gaia Paradisi described as “inclusive and widespread.” Since 2020, the company has adopted a people-centric leadership model, aiming to create a work environment that values each team member’s contribution. In this context, training projects are essential: over 43 hours of both technical and non-technical training were provided in 2023.
As a Benefit Corporation, Paradisi stands out for its focus on family needs, offering contributions for daycare and summer camps and fostering an environment aimed at improving the quality of life for its employees.
This event also featured the awarding of the “Sandro Paradisi” Scholarship to a student distinguished by excellence, dedication, and collaboration. This year, we had the pleasure of recognizing Alessio Badi, a recent graduate of IIS Marconi Pieralisi, who achieved top marks.
Thanks to strong collaboration with the Marconi Pieralisi Institute in Jesi and the committed support of Principal Dr. Maria Rita Fiordelmondo, we annually create professional training projects for students entering the workforce and technological innovation. The Sandro Paradisi Association plays a pivotal role in realizing our vision as a B-Corp.
After the presentation, attendees enjoyed a buffet curated by chef Max Santoni. Each participant received a beautiful program booklet featuring the script of the theatrical performance staged at Paradisi, reworked by Mauro D’Ignazio, with communication consulting from Dmp Concept of Senigallia. It was bound with brass rivets engraved with the Paradisi pyramid, produced in-house.
The 2023 Integrated Report represents a significant milestone for our family-run business in its journey of change and growth. It also reflects our commitment to staying connected to all sectors of our company and to every single collaborator, embracing their ideas and vision of their roles and personal growth.
Despite economic challenges in an uncertain world, the company has remained steadfast in its values, prioritizing sustainability, innovation, and people. “We are an organization in transformation, maintaining our dynamic balance. Paradisi exists because we are Paradisi,” concluded Gaia Paradisi, emphasizing the determination to continue conducting business ethically, sustainably, and with a forward-looking approach that includes everyone who has been, is, and will continue to be a vital part of it.
We extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone present, our friends, clients, organizers, and the communication team from Dmp Concept led by Luca De Minicis, Davide Caporaletti Studio and team for direction and imagery, Ventilazione S.N.C. for audio support, director Mauro D’Ignazio, Marco Marcatili, Head of Strategy and Development at Nomisma, sociologist Massimiliano Colombi, and Max Santoni for the catering.
